Moderation and reporting

Last updated: May 2026

1. Where the content in the Chiner Feed comes from

The Chiner Feed (the 🔦 button on the map) displays the 20 most recent public Instagram posts of OuChiner's dealers — antique dealers, second-hand dealers, vintage clothing shops, Emmaüs and other second-hand businesses — who have voluntarily opted in from their dealer area by ticking the "Take part in the Chiner Feed" box. No hashtag is needed: as soon as a dealer is opted in, their latest posts appear automatically.

OuChiner aggregates these posts through the official Meta Business Discovery API. The content remains hosted on Instagram — OuChiner merely displays it as a scrolling feed to help users discover local finds.

2. Why there is a reporting system

Even though the dealers are registered professionals and the content comes from Instagram (which has its own moderation), we cannot check every post in advance. If you see content that seems inappropriate to you, you can report it in one click.

3. How to report content

From the app or the website

On every post in the Chiner Feed, a 🚩 Report button appears at the top right of the dealer information area. Clicking it opens a reporting form where you choose a reason:

Once submitted, the post is immediately hidden from the feed — it will no longer appear for other users while we review it.

By email

If you prefer to write to us directly, contact us at: [email protected]

Please specify: the URL of the reported Instagram post, the name of the shop, the reason for the report, and a screenshot if possible.

4. Our 24-hour moderation commitment

We undertake to review every report within a maximum of 24 hours of receiving it. During that review:

5. What a dealer can do to moderate themselves

Every dealer opted in to the Chiner Feed keeps full control over their posts:

6. Removal of a repeat-offending dealer

If a dealer is the subject of repeated justified reports, OuChiner may unilaterally remove their account from the Chiner Feed without notice and without refunding their subscription. This measure protects the platform's users.

7. Reporting directly to Instagram

In addition, you can also report the post directly on Instagram using their native "Report" button. That may lead to the post being removed on their side, and therefore automatically on ours (since we read their API in real time).
